Dobies Cumbria Charitable Trust – Supporting West Cumbria Since 1997

In 1997, Dobies Charitable Trust was established. The main aim of the Charitable Trust is to help and support local initiatives, which benefit Cumbria by awarding grants. It is usually used to support organisations ran by local people, with an objective of benefiting the local community in the long term. The emphasis is placed upon supporting projects in deprived areas, groups of people disadvantaged through mental or physical health, sport and extracurricular activities for the young.

The Trust is not used to support individuals or to support national charities without a real benefit to Cumbria. This is to reflect the link felt between the Trust and the area within which Dobies have operated since the early 1970's.

We’re proud to give back to the community that’s supported us for over 50 years. The Dobies Charitable Trust funds local projects across West Cumbria — with over £250,000 donated so far!

To be clear we are not a lender and do not offer advice or any recommendations, we only introduce you to a limited number of finance lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor and we may act in our own commercial interests. Our panel of Lenders include Dobies Cumbria Finance Ltd, Evolution Funding Ltd and Stellantis Financial Services Limited.

Unless we consider it to be inappropriate given your personal circumstances or for certain vehicles our approach is to introduce you to Dobies Cumbria Finance Ltd for used vehicles and Stellantis Financial Services Ltd for new cars. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission.
